The Real Inspector Hound

By Tom Stoppard

A 60 minute one act masterpiece of farce recently seen at the Edmonton Fringe presented at the Varscona. A hilarious spoof of an Agatha Christie-like whodunit with many twists and turns. This will be a great play to read in a totally over-the-top melodramatic way! Feed your inner critic, diva, detective, or evil genius as the mists rise around isolated Muldoon Manor.

Setting: A theatre where the set is the drawing room of the Muldoon Manor.

Characters:

MOON – a second string critic.
BIRDBOOT – a rival critic.
The remaining are characters in the play Birdboot and Moon are reviewing.

MRS. DRUDGE – housekeeper of Muldoon Manor.
SIMON – a visitor to Muldoon Manor.
FELICITY – one of Simon’s lovers.
CYNTHIA – another of Simon’s lovers.
MAGNUS – the crippled half-brother to Lord Muldoon.
INSPECTOR HOUND – detective inspecting a murder at Muldoon Manor.
